Hello, our dear friends -
This is Scott, and this will be the last update before we begin our journey back home.
We have been humbled and amazed at the working of God in our midst, together with our brothers and sisters from the Shanti Dham Church.
We have danced and celebrated into the night with the Shanti Dham people, who are incredible dancers. We have walked the streets of Dar es Salaam and have prayed for the city and for total strangers, who have received us very warmly. We have installed mosquito nets at the Compassion International site in Bagamoyo, doing this for impoverished people who are eking out an existence. We have visited Lucky Kreuzer and the students at PEACE Academy, who received us with smiles and open arms. The Springs Community Church Advent Conspiracy offering has provided for 2 rope pumps, 3 pedal pumps, and 150 tulip water filters. We were shown some of these in operation, already making a difference and helping to sustain life in the Morogoro region of Tanzania. We have fellowshipped in the homes of the Shanti Dham congregation, breaking bread with them and teaching them from Alpha and Jesus’ Big Idea.
Thank you for partnering with us in this sacred assignment. Thank you for praying for us. Our bus broke down tonight on the way home from Morogoro. We walked a short distance to a roadside pub, and enjoyed each other and the breeze for awhile. We returned to the bus, and sang and danced with the children who came out to look at us. The parents offered us their bathroom. We are now safe in our hotel, and anticipating reunion with you in just a short while.
Praise the Lord for His goodness! All of us on the team have been transformed by our experience here. See you soon!
