The folks on the Tanzania Team are getting VERY excited as the reality we are actually leaving for Dar es Salaam in nine days is hitting. We have been training for nine months: reading, praying, fundraising, bonding as a team, and asking God for direction. We are eager to go!
Several of us are sporting large welts on our arms from the Yellow Fever vaccine. We will begin taking anti-malaria medication two days before we leave. Please pray for the team as they prepare emotionally, spiritually and physically. I think each team member’s “To Do” list is getting longer instead of shorter. Goodbyes to family, work, and friends will soon be a reality. The team could really use your prayers.
Please write Sunday July 10 on your calendars at 6:00 p.m. Do it now!
That evening, the Springs Community Church congregation will commission the 10 team members who are traveling from Colorado to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It would mean a lot to the team to have has many people as possible come to send their prayers and blessings with us. The Commissioning Service (held in the church sanctuary) will be less than an hour. And there will be special dessert refreshments right after the service…you don’t want to miss those.
On the team, we are so thankful to all who have supported us in so many ways. We go as representatives of a great church and a really gigantic and terrific God. Please check this site often to get the latest on activities and prayer requests as Team Tanzania 2011 reports to you. We will be writing and blogging as often as we can– hopefully daily–and you are with us always.
We serve an awesome God.
